Laundry Care
Packing tips, prohibited items, and what you acknowledge when you send laundry with Foldie.
Effective July 23, 2026
How to pack
- Use your assigned Foldie bags and zip them closed.
- Leave bags in the pickup spot you noted by morning of your run.
- Empty pockets. Remove tissues, pens, coins, cards, and anything you wouldn’t want washed.
- If your route accepts special-care notes (delicates, hang-dry, allergy preferences), add them in the app or when you mark laundry ready — don’t assume the shop will see a handwritten scrap unless your route says so.
Prohibited items
Please do not put any of the following in Foldie bags:
- Cash, checks, gift cards, or important documents
- Jewelry, watches, or valuables
- Phones, tablets, batteries, or other electronics
- Weapons, ammunition, or fireworks
- Hazardous materials (flammables, chemicals, paint, motor oil, solvents)
- Pet waste, litter, or heavily soiled biohazard materials
- Items that cannot go through a standard commercial washer and dryer without prior arrangement with your local route (for example some leather, suede, or dry-clean-only garments)
If prohibited items are found, your local route may refuse service for that bag, return items unwashed, or pause the stop. Foldie and partners are not responsible for loss of prohibited or undeclared valuables.
Care standard
Partner laundromats use commercial wash, dry, and fold. That’s great for everyday family laundry. It is not the same as boutique dry cleaning or garment-by-garment couture care.
Normal laundry risks still apply, including:
- Color bleed between mixed loads
- Shrinkage from heat drying
- Wear, fading, or damage to already fragile items
- Occasional missing pieces in multi-bag households
Sort what you can at home when it matters (new reds with lights, etc.). When in doubt, ask your local Foldie before sending something special.
Lost or damaged
Report missing or damaged items to your local Foldie contact promptly — ideally within 48 hours of delivery — so they can look into it in good faith. Full details live in our Terms of Service.
Acknowledgment
By using Foldie — requesting a bag kit, scheduling a run, marking laundry ready, or leaving bags for pickup — you acknowledge that:
- You have read these Laundry Care guidelines and the Terms of Service.
- You will not place prohibited or valuable items in Foldie bags.
- You understand commercial wash/dry/fold carries normal laundry risks, and Foldie and its local partners are not liable for valuables left in bags or undeclared special-care items as described in the Terms.
- You can skip pickups anytime (text SKIP or skip in the app) and are not locked into a long-term laundry contract.
